About Your Fishing Guide

Your guide will be local man Louis Kersley, whose family has been pike fishing on Lough Erne for generations and has lots of experience and knowledge of Lough Erne to bring you to the best pike fishing areas.

Louis will skipper the boat and take you to the pike hotspots. Louis’ preferred method is dead bait and he will show some of his own tricks and skills so that hopefully you bag that once in a lifetime fish. Louis regularly catches pike over 20lbs and has a personal best of 26lbs.

About Lough Erne Pike Fishing

The Upper Lough is considered to be one of Europe’s foremost pike fishing lakes, with pike weighing 20 to 30lbs commonly being caught.

For best results, dead bait fishing from a boat is usually very successful and this is the method which will normally used by your guide.

There is a large network of lakes offering suitable for boat fishing and there are a number of well established pike waters. Your guide is fully acquainted with Lough Erne, as well as the legislative requirements for fishing in Northern Ireland.

About Your Day

You will start in Enniskillen at our Erne Adventures base. Your guide will provide you with a safety briefing and get you kitted out with your tackle. You will then proceed to your Orkney 592 boat where your guide will take you to some of their lesser known fishing spots.

Participants are advised to bring their own lunch and refreshments, however we can arrange for lunch for you and your group at one of the local hotels/restaurants (additional charge applies).

The fishing trip takes approximately 8 hours and start time may vary depending on season. Your guide will be in touch beforehand to discuss a start time.

Erne Adventures will provide:

• Boat hire, fuel and lifejackets
• Fishing tackle including rods, reels & nets
• Dead bait

PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NO CLOSED SEASON FOR PIKE FISHING, BUT THERE IS A BAG LIMIT OF 1 FISH PER ANGLER PER DAY AND ALL THOSE OVER 4KG WEIGHT MUST BE RETURNED TO THE WATER, ALIVE.

A wide range of accommodation can be arranged, from hotels, B&B to self-catering at an additional cost.

Lunch

Fancy stopping off for lunch?
We can facilitate lunch at one of the local hotels/restaurants at an additional cost of £25/pp.

Wet Gear

You are advised to bring your own wet gear, however if you prefer, wet gear may be hired at a cost of £40/pp.
